Replacing RX4 rear brake pads

I have a 2002 RX4 and need to replace the rear brake pads but am having difficulty winding in the brake piston. The (UK) Haynes manual mentions that the piston has to be rotated in a clockwise direction into the caliper bore but despite my efforts rotating the piston it is not moving into the bore. Any ideas?

It is a bit tricky, but very easy, just press (push) the piston DURING rotation, that it!!!

As a help you can use a clamp to press and other tool to rotate.
