Just a quick wee question. Is it posssible to get a K&N air filter for the 1.9dci engine? I think that they do one but I have been unable to find any shops that carry them. Does anybody have any experience with them in the RX4?

Many thanks

Andrew

Hi Bobi

I have a K&N that I bought for my RX4 and I think it is great, I can't say that I notice any difference but I am hearing more of a sucking noise/whistle from the turbo. The main reason for getting one is that you just wash them out and reoil them when they are dirty and the fact that I had one in my land rover before my RX4 and in it you could feel the difference. I do not know what engine you have but as stated in the first post of this topic I have the 1.9 DCI and in it the K&N is a direct replacement for the original filter, by this I mean that it is a panel It cost me ?35 here in the uk. Unfortunately I don't have a working camera at the minute or else I would get you a picture.

Hope this info helps

Andrew

Hi Andrew,
You help me very much, thanks :D My engine is 2.0 16V (140hp) benzine.I am still wondering what kind of filter to buy (replacement or conic :? )The main reason I want to buy K&N filter is that: in high revolutions the RX4 is little clumsy and I feel the engine get out of breath (my current air filter is new original for RX4,but it seems it is not enought to satisfy the thirst for air of the engine  ).
When I buy K&N filter I'll write again my impressions
BR,
Bobi
